Money Management

When trading – the way we manage our risk is the most important aspect. The development of money management starts at the most basic level. Trade entries are one aspect of money management but this is only a single aspect – Day Done, Monthly profit averages, scale in logic, and so much more is required to consistently and profitably trade in these market conditions. By utilizing proper money management, we maintain control of our trading scale and avoid the trades where the risk is not worth the rewards – we scale up after a validated pattern entry to maximize the opportunity within the price model and we utilize our exit criteria for maximum effect. Market Analysis

Everything we do in the market rests upon our ability to trust the setups we identify – to trust the pivots that we have measured and to trust our ability and skill at performing a consistent market analysis. With price action trading strategies, we have to recognize the pattern and how to use it effectively. These patterns can be from the higher timeframe or on our current timeframe – combining these two effectively is how we run a more “validated” analysis.

Economic Events

Job numbers, trading surveys, housing stats, oil reports, fed announcements, central bank statements – these economic reports and many others can cause the market to suddenly shift directions in a moment. Recognize these shifts in the market as an opportunity – not as a danger. These economic events happen around the world and at different times of the day and night – providing an opportunity to trade in the Globex with structure.

Institutional Pivot Points

In price action trading strategies, our ability to quantify the support and resistance identified is critical. By utilizing Institutional Pivot Points, we can anticipate the opportunity for trade activity and focus our attention on the price structures that truly matter. The market moves from pivot to pivot 90% of the time – providing us with the opportunity to participate.

Price Action

Price action trading strategies utilize order flow analysis and historically proven price action to trade consistently. The Playbook should be filled with fully formed trade entry conditions based on exact criteria – so that every single trade is taken with history and testing behind it. The price action on each futures product is unique – and similar. It is also something we become familiar with over time. Learn to recognize the price action and the opportunities that come with it.
